Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Tickets
Sold Out in Less Than a Week
CHATHAM -- The Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of
Fame Executive Committee announced Wednesday night that tickets for the
Jan. 20, 2001 Inaugural CCBL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony were sold
out in a matter of just five days.
Committee chairman Paul Galop
made the announcement during the regular monthly meeting of the CCBL Board
of Directors. Galop added that former Wareham Gatemen star and inaugural
inductee Mo Vaughn of the Anaheim Angels had confirmed he'll be on hand
to accept his induction plaque, but also announced that Chicago White Sox
star Frank Thomas, a former Orleans Cardinals star, would not be able to
make the ceremony due to a prior commitment.
Vaughn and Thomas are just
two of 13 former Cape League players and officials who comprise the
newly established Hall of Fame's first class of inductees.
The Hall of Fame will be housed
permanently at The Heritage Plantation in Sandwich. CCBL Commissioner and
Hall of Fame Committee member Bob Stead also announced that Heritage will
erect a small display of inductee and Cape League memorabilia in the summer
of 2001 prior to its unveiling of a more complete museum display in 2002.
The Inaugural Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony will be hosted at the Chatham Bars Inn, Jan. 20, 2001.
