Today’s Cotuit-Wareham game is at 5 p.m in Cotuit. Schedules that indicate the game is in Wareham are incorrect.

The Mets sail to Nantucket for tomorrow’s Nantucket Island Pennant Game against the Harwich Mariners. The game, at picturesque Tom Nevers Field, is a fund-raiser for Nantucket Babe Ruth Baseball. Hyannis is making the trip for the third year in a row, and general manager John Howitt said many of the players’ families schedule Cape visits to coincide with the junket. “Quite a number of our players, particularly those from the Midwest, have never seen the ocean before, and it’s quite a thrill for them to go over on the ferry,” Howitt said. The Mets report that players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and fans are travelling to the game on Hy-Line Cruises’ Great Point ferry and returning on the Great Point and the Grey Lady. Shuttle buses arranged by the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce will run from the docks to the field before the game and back to the docks afterward. Game time is 2 p.m., with pregame clinics for Little League and Babe Ruth League players, so don’t miss the 9 a.m. boat. The Cape League is widely considered a pitcher’s league, especially early in the season. The Mets struggled mightily at the plate in the early going this season, scoring just seven runs in the first six games and being shut out in three of them. The Kets, by contrast, scored 26 runs in their first six outings. But despite the run differential, Cotuit entered Wednesday’s action just a game ahead of Hyannis in the Western Division with a record of 2-3-1. Cotuit had scored eight runs twice and five runs once through Tuesday, but only won one of the three contests. Wareham had the early lead in the division with a 3-2-1 record. Meanwhile, all five Eastern Division teams were at .500 or better.
