Cape League playoffs begin

The Orleans Cardinals (30-14-0) hosted the first game of the Cape Cod Baseball league East Division Playoffs Tuesday night when they took on the Chatham A's (28-15-1). The second game was scheduled for Chatham Wednesday night. 

The Harwich Mariners finished third with a 21-23-0 mark. 

Harwich's Chris Emanuele finished sixth in the league in batting with a .315 average and Scott Sizemore came on strong to place eighth with a .304 mark. 

Tim Lincecum of Harwich led the league with a 0.70 ERA in 39 innings of work. He had a 2-2 record and struck out 66 in 39 innings. His teammate Adam Ottovino was 10th with a 1.76 ERA in 51 innings. He also had a 2-2 record. 

Bourne (26-17-1) and Cotuit (22-19-3) are playing off in the West Division. The Championship series should begin Thursday or Friday.
