Cotuit lands four starters on West All-Star team

The Cotuit Kettleers may be riding along in third place, but they landed four starters and a pitcher on the West Division team for Saturday's Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game at McKeon Field in Hyannis.

The Kettleers' infield trio of second baseball Brad Boyer (Arizona), third baseman Bryan Harris (Cal State Fullerton) and shortstop Jason Donald (Arizona) are joined by right fielder Sean Gaston (Notre Dame) on the starting team. Pitcher Chris Toneguzzi (Purdue) will be a reserve pitcher.

Defending league champion Yarmouth-Dennis placed two starters and four reserves on the East Division squad while Hyannis, suffering through a disastrous season, landed first baseman Andy D'Alessio on the starting West team.

Y-D catcher Danny Lehmann (Rice) and DH Jeff Kindel (Georgia Tech) will start for East. Red Sox reserves will be catcher Jordan Abruzzo (San Diego), infielder Chris Errecart (Cal Berkeley) and pitchers Tim Gustafson (Georgia Tech) and Brandon Morrow (Cal Berkeley).

Fans will be admitted to McKeon Park at 10:30 a.m. to catch batting practice, autographs and infield practice prior to the Baseball Factory Home Run Hitting Classic at 1:15 p.m. Last season, Bourne slugger Austin Easley (University of Florida) won the competition by hitting 17 homers, including nine in the finals.

Hyannis Sound will perform the national anthem, which will begin at 2:50 p.m. The first pitch ceremony will be at 3 p.m. with play beginning at 3:05.

The game will be televised on College Sports Television (CSTV) and also broadcast live on PIXY 103 and in streaming audio at www.capecodbaseball.org and also on minorleaguebaseball.com.
