New Field Opens For Bourne Braves July 4th

 30 June 2006

On Tuesday, the Bourne Braves will celebrate the official grand opening of their new home at the Upper Cape Technical School. They will host the Wareham Gateman for their traditional Fourth of July game. The pre-game ceremony will begin at 1 PM with the first pitch being thrown at 2 PM. As well, a postponed youth clinic will open the day at 10 AM.

Cape Cod Baseball League Commissioner Paul Galup has described the new field as "an old fashioned barn raising" in that the students of Upper Cape Tech were responsible for almost 75 percent of the work. The Braves will honor those individuals whose dedication, hard work, and vision helped create their new home.

The June 12 Braves Walk & Roll fundraising event that was partially cancelled due to rain will now be held on the same day. The youth clinic is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 AM.
The concession stand will be open at noon as fans are encouraged to arrive early. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive complimentary American flags and the first 500 children through the gate will receive temporary patriotic tattoos.
