Bourne places 5 on Cape League All-Stars

Bourne - The Bourne Braves will be well represented at Saturday’s 45th annual Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game at Wareham’s Spillane Field.

    Second baseman Kevin Hoef of Iowa, the league’s No. 2 batter through Sunday’s games with the .341 batting average and outfielder Ben Guez of William & Mary, West Division leader in RBI with 23 were named to the starting team.

    Outfield Josh Satin of California and pitchers TJ Hose of East Carolina and Jordan Flasher of George Mason were tabbed as reserves for the West Division.

    Back to defend his Home Run Hitting Contest laurels will be Mitch Moreland (Mississippi State) of the Braves. 

    Falmouth placed seven players on the team, including starters Conor Gillaspie of Wichita State at third base, outfielders Aja Barto of Tulane and Matt hague of Washington, and starting pitcher Aaron Crow of Missouri (3-1, 0.64 ERA). Pitchers Kyle Gibson (Missouri), Christian Friedrich (Eastern Kentucky) and Luke Burnett (Louisiana Tech) were the Commodores selected as reserves.
