On July 28th, the best players of the Cape Cod Baseball League traveled to Spillane Field in Wareham, home to the Gatemen, for the annual All-Star Game.

The sun was bright and the crowd was huge, as fans from across the state came to cheer for their favorite players or just to get a glimpse of the future superstars.

The last event before the game, was the homerun derby, which was won by Wareham Gatemen's Luke Murton, as he blasted dingers over the fence and into the parking lot.

With autographs, celebrities, long balls, and smiles, it's not hard to understand why baseball is the national pastime.
