The Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester honored Cape Cod Baseball League President Judy Walden Scarafile for her achievements at their 16th annual New England Women’s Leadership

HONORED – Judy Walden Scarafile, president of the Cape Cod Baseball League, was recently presented with the Pioneer Award by the Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester at its 16th annual New England Women’s Leadership Awards presentation. Walden Scarafile received the Pioneer Award for her ongoing efforts with the CCBL.
According to a press release, Walden Scarafile has worked in various capacities for the CCBL for the past 38 years.
In 1991 she was named the first female president in the league’s 123-year history. As president, she oversees administration, finances, league meetings, public relations and marketing, strategic planning and special events.
In 2003, Walden Scaraflle became the first woman inducted into the CCBL Hall of FameShe was also named to the Yawkey Foundation and has received numerous awards including the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Citizen of the Year” and USA Baseball’s National Amateur Baseball “Woman of the Year.”
The New England Women’s Leadership Awards raise funds for the three Boys & Girls Clubs clubhouses in Dorchester.
Don Rodman, founder of the Don Rodman Ride for Kids, nominated Scarafile for the award.
