Cape League results for July 10

Cotuit 2, Wareham 0
Brett Jackson hit a solo homerun in the fourth inning as the Kettleers defeated the Braves 2-0 on Thursday night to continue the logjam at the top of the West Division. Brandon Workman was the tough luck loser, allowing only one earned run in six innings of work. Cotuit will play at Falmouth while Wareham hosts Bourne.

Falmouth 7, Brewster 2
Rex Brothers allowed only one earned in five innings pitched to earn his first win of the summer as the Commodores defeated the Whitecaps 7-2 on Thursday. Joey Wong drove in three runs with a double in the fifth inning and Jimmy Cesario had three hits and scored two runs. Brewster will send undefeated Tim Clubb to the mound against Chatham while Falmouth hosts Cotuit.

Harwich 4, Chatham 3
Trailing by a run heading into the ninth inning, the Mariners took advantage of some wild Chatham pitching to score two runs in the deciding inning to pull off the win. After losing six, Harwich has bounced back with a pair of wins to get back in the playoff picture. Dustin Ackley continues to hit well, collecting another two hits in the leadoff position for Harwich. Second baseman Jason Stidham also had a pair of hits. Evan Ocheltree went 4-for-4 in the loss for the A's. Harwich will play at Orleans while Chatham plays at Brewster.

Hyannis 1, Orleans 0
The light-hitting Cardinals managed only two hits as the Mets escaped with the one-run victory, snapping the Cardinals winning streak in the process. Marcus Jones drove in the winning run with a single in the top of the eighth, driving in Trent Ashcroft, who had doubled earlier in the inning. Orleans will host Harwich tonight, while Hyannis hosts Y-D.

Bourne 3, Y-D 2
The Braves scored three runs in the fourth inning to keep pace in the West. Nick McCully pitched six strong, allowing only two runs on four hits to pick up the win. Ross Wilson knocked in two runs with a double in the deciding fourth inning. Bourne will play at Wareham while Y-D plays at Hyannis.
