Cape League results for July 11

Orleans 10, Harwich 5
The Cardinals played long ball against the Mariners, hitting two homeruns en route to a 10-5 win and in the process, extending their lead in the East. Nate Freiman hit a two-run homerun on his way to a four RBI, three hit performance. Tim Wheeler added a homerun and scored three runs. Harwich showed life in the fifth with five runs, including a three run homerun by DJ Belfonte, but Orleans added a pair in the bottom half of the inning to put the game out of reach. Orleans travels to Cotuit, while Harwich hosts Hyannis.

Falmouth 3, Cotuit 2
The Commodores scored three runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Kettleers, knocking them from the top spot in the West. Paul Applebee pitched well for Cotuit, going six strong, allowing only one earned run on four hits, but wouldn't get the decision in the loss. Jimmy Cesario had the big hit for Falmouth, a two-run homerun in the deciding inning to lead them to victory. Falmouth will play at YD tonight, while Cotuit hosts Orleans. 

Hyannis 5, YD 1
The Mets broke a 1-1 tie with a grand slam off the bat of Marcus Jones in the bottom of the eighth to pick up the win over the Red Sox. Will Weidig picked up his third win of the season in two innings of relief. The Mets play at Harwich tonight, while YD hosts Falmouth.

Bourne 2, Wareham 0
Bryce Stowell pitched eight plus, striking out eight and not allowing a run to pick up his second win of the season. Dusty Coleman and Tyler Cannon each had a pair of hits for the Braves, who are now ties with Hyannis for the lead in the West. Bourne hosts Brewster while Wareham travels to Chatham.
