Cape League results for July 13

Harwich 6, Brewster 0
The Mariners kept pace in the East with a shutout win over Brewster on Sunday. Dustin Ackley had a pair of hits, including a homerun and double, and drove in the three runs in the win. Chris Manno picked up the win, allowing only four hits while holding the Whitecaps scoreless and striking out 10. Mike Freeman went 4-for-4 in the loss, which put Brewster four points behind Orleans. The Whitecaps will play the Cardinals tonight, while the Mariners host Falmouth.

Chatham 7, Falmouth 2
The A's pounded out 14 hits on their way to a 7-2 win over Falmouth on Sunday night. The win puts Chatham in a tie with Harwich for third in the East. Grant Green had three hits and Kyle Seager also had three hits, including a homerun, to pace the A's. Chatham will host Bourne tonight, while Falmouth travels to Harwich.

Hyannis 6, Cotuit 1
The Mets continue their hot play as of late, beating the Kettleers 6-1 on Sunday for their 16th win of the summer. Ben Paulsen had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for Hyannis. Chris Dominguez showed his power once again with his league leading eighth homerun of the season. Hyannis will play at Wareham while Cotuit hosts Y-D.

Orleans 3, Bourne 2
The Cardinals carried a one-hitter into the eighth inning before the Braves scored two runs on five hits to pull within a run. Orleans starter Kyle Smith went six shutout innings for the win. Alex Hassan had a key hit and closed the game on the mound for the Cardinals. Orleans will host Brewster while Bourne travels to Chatham.

Y-D 7, Wareham 2
In a battle of last place teams, the Red Sox came out on top with a 7-2 win. Nick Liles went 4-for-5 with two RBI. Connor Rowe had a pair of hits for the Gatemen. Jeff Inman picked up his first win of the season for Y-D. The Red Sox travel to Cotuit today, while Wareham hosts Hyannis.
