Cape League results for July 15

Harwich 5, Falmouth 4
The Mariners won their third straight as they defeated Falmouth 5-4 thanks to a walk off single by DJ LeMahieu in the bottom of the ninth, one of two hits on the night for the Harwich shortstop. With the win, and Brewster's loss to Orleans, the Mariners are now in second place. Billy Bullock went seven strong, allowing only one earned run while striking out seven. Sean Black picked up the win with an inning of relief. Joe Sanders hit a homerun for the Mariners, while Jimmy Cesario had a pair of hits for Falmouth. Harwich will play Cotuit while Falmouth travels to Brewster.

Orleans 4, Brewster 3
Trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth, the Cardinals rallied for a pair of runs to pull off the comeback. Cole Figueroa was the hero, hitting a base hit with the bases loaded in the ninth to make Orleans the winner. Nate Frieman hit a homerun and a single in the ninth to set up Figueroa. With the win over the second place Whitecaps, the Cardinals raise their lead in the East while dropping Brewster from second place. Orleans will play at Hyannis while Brewster plays Falmouth.

Chatham 6, Bourne 0
The A's shutout the Braves 8-0 to keep pace with the division leaders in the East. Grant Green continues to hit well, pounding out two hits to lead the league in hitting. Jake Thompson pitched well, pitching six innings of shutout ball, allowing only four hits while striking out six to pick up his second win of the season. Victor Sanchez had three hits for the A's. They'll play at YD tonight while Bourne hosts Wareham.

YD 7, Cotuit 1
Tyler Marmion went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs in the 7-1 win for the Red Sox, who are trying to get out of the cellar in the East. The Kettleers managed just five total hits, including a single run in the third inning. Eddie Burns picked up his second win of the season, allowing only four hits in six innings of work. Cotuit will travel to Harwich while YD hosts Chatham.

Hyannis 2, Wareham 0
The Mets couldn't get by the Gatemen as they lost 2-0 on Tuesday night. Andrew Carraway pitched well for Hyannis but was tagged for the loss. The first place Mets will play Orleans tonight while Wareham travels to Bourne.
