Cape League results for July 31

Bourne 5, Falmouth 4
The Braves moved within four points of first place Falmouth with a 5-4 win over the Commodores on Thursday. Leadoff hitter Jordan Henry had three hits and scored a pair of runs for Bourne. Nick McCully picked up the win, pitching seven strong innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits. Bourne will play at Hyannis while Falmouth hosts Cotuit.

Cotuit 12, Hyannis 2
Kettleers starter Seth Blair pitched a complete game for the win. Blair allowed two runs on 10 hits while Michael Gilmartin had three runs and drove in a pair of runs and Joey Lewis hit a homerun in the win. Cotuit will play at Falmouth while Hyannis hosts Bourne.

Wareham 3, Orleans 1
The Cardinals lost to Wareham in the first game of the last week of the regular season. The Cardinals will play Chatham while Wareham plays at Brewster.

YD 5, Brewster 4
The Whitecaps comeback fell a run short as they lost a key game to the Red Sox on Thursday. The Whitecaps are stilll four points back of Harwich for the final spot in the East. They'll play Wareham while YD plays at Harwich.

Harwich vs. Chatham
Heavy fog forced this key East game to be postponed until Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Harwich. Chatham, four points behind the Mariners, will play at Orleans while Harwich plays YD at home.
