Cape League results for June 20

Bourne 8, Brewster 3
After losing to the Whitecaps the night before, Bourne got revenge, scoring three runs in the sixth and eighth innings to win 8-3. Jamie Johnson scored three runs and hit a fourth inning homerun to left field as the Braves pounded out 13 hits. For Brewster, Ty Kelly had a pair of its and drove in two runs, while Ryan Wheeler and Derek Poppert also had a two-hit night. Brewster will host Chatham tonight, while Bourne travels to Orleans.


Cotuit 13, Chatham 2
The teams combined for six total errors in this lopsided game. Cotuit scored nine earned runs and pounded out 16 hits. Jeff Kobernus had a four-hit game while the Kettelers scored in five of the first six innings. Starter Nick Hernandez went six innings, allowing only one earned run on six hits. Grant Green had a pair of hits for the A's. Chatham will travel to Brewster tonight while Cotuit travels to Harwich.


Falmouth 1, Harwich 0
Falmouth starter Jorge Reyes picked up the win as Falmouth escaped with the one run victory. Harwich starter Matt Zielinski also pitched well, allowing only an unearned run in the fifth inning, but still was tagged with the loss. Harwich will host Cotuit while Falmouth plays Y-D.


Hyannis 8, Orleans 1
Austin Hudson pitched a one-hitter in five innings of work as the Mets limited the Cardinals to only three total hits. Orleans made three errors in the field as their pitchers allowed only two earned runs in the loss. Ryan Eden had three hits and two RBI for Hyannis, who'll play Wareham tonight. Orleans will host Bourne

Wareham 2, Y-D 0
The Red Sox scored 10 runs on nine hits in the final two innings to pick up the come from behind victory. The Gatemen were plagued by errors and overthrows as they lost the game in the final innings. Josh Rutledge had three hits, while Nick Lies drove in three runs for the Red Sox. They'll play Falmouth tonight, while Wareham plays Hyannis.
