Cape League results for June 24

Mother Nature was the big winner on Tuesday night as all but one of the scheduled games were forced to cancel due to wet weather. The Chatham A's and Wareham Gatemen were the ony two teams in action.

Chatham 2, Wareham 0

Chatham starter Sammy Solis tossed seven strong innings from the mound, giving up only two hits while striking out eight as the A's dodged the raindrops to pick up their fourth win of the summer. Wareham starter Brandon was also solid in his inning outing, striking out ten. But it was Grant Green's two-out, two-run double in the second inning that gave the A's the lead and they hung on from there. Brad Boxberger picked up his third save of the season for Chatham. Wareham will face Harwich tonight at Whitehouse Field.
