Cape League results for June 27

REGIONAL

Brewster 5, Harwich 0
In a battle of the two top teams in the East Division, the Whitecaps came out on top as Brewster's Buddy Bauman struck out six while allowing only one fourth base hit. Brewster got a first inning homerun off the bat of James Meador in the first inning, and another from Connor Powers. That would be all the offense the team would been as they rolled from there. Joe Sanders and Chase Leavitt had the lone hits for Harwich. They'll play at Wareham tonight and the Whitecaps play at Cotuit.

Wareham 9, Chatham 3
Cole Leonida knocked in three runs as the Gatemen defeated the A's 9-3. Chatham's Grant Green continues to climb to the top of the average leader board as his three hits on Friday night now gives a .438 average, good for second in the league. Wareham got seven runs in the first three innings and never looked back. Chatham will host Hyannis while Wareham hosts Harwich.

Cotuit 9, Falmouth 2
The Kettleers won their ninth game of the summer, tops in the league, as they took down Falmouth 9-3 on Friday. Jason Kipnis had four hits while Kevin Patterson drove in three runs. Starter Matt Fairel gave up only one earned run in six innings pitched. Falmouth will play Y-D in Brockton today as part of the Hall of Fame game. Cotuit will play Brewster at home.

Orleans 1, Hyannis 0
Orleans pitchers allowed only one hit as they defeated Hyannis in a pitchers dual. Rob Rasmussen earned with win, with five one-hit innings of work. Kyle Kamppi scored his fourth save of the season with another perfect ninth. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals got a run on the board off an RBI single by Angelo Songco, driving in Gary Brown. Orleans will play at Bourne while Hyannis plays down the road at Chatham.

Bourne 8, Y-D 3
In a six inning game that featured seven errors between the two teams, Bourne starter Victor Black picked up the win, pitching four plus innings, allowing three unearned runs. Dusty Coleman had three hits for Bounre, while Mack DeAngelo had a pair of hits for Y-D. The Red Sox will face Falmouth at 6 p.m. in the Hall of Fame game in Brockton. Bourne will host Orleans.
