Cape League results for July 28

Chatham 9, Bourne 4
After scoring four runs in the top of the ninth inning to send the game into extra innings, the A’s exploded for five runs in the top of the thirteenth inning to defeat the Braves. Kyle Bellows hit a grand slam in the final inning as he went 3-for-4 with five RBI on the night. Jordan Henry had three hits for the Braves. Chatham will host Orleans tonight while Bourne plays at Cotuit.
Cotuit 6, Harwich 1

Nick Hernandez picked up his fifth win of the summer as he limited the Mariners to one run on five hits. With the loss, Harwich is now six points ahead of Chatham for the final spot in the East. Cotuit is third place in the West, three points behind Hyannis for second place. Harwich will hosts Brewster while Cotuit plays Bourne.
Falmouth 6, YD 2

The Commodores continue to hold onto a one-point lead in the West as they defeated YD 6-2. Ryan Jones hit a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth to lead Falmouth to victory. YD will play Wareham while Falmouth hosts Hyannis in a battle for first place in the West.
Orleans 6, Brewster 5

The Cardinals continued their dominance in the East as they held on to defeat Brewster 6-5. Orleans hitters pounded out 11 hits but only held a two-run advantage heading into the final inning. After allowing a run in, Orleans’ pitcher Alex Hassan finally shut down the Whitecaps for the win. Hassan also had a pair of hits in the game. It’ll be a big night for action in the West as Orleans will play Chatham tonight while Brewster travels to Harwich.
Hyannis 5, Wareham 1

The Mets stayed one-point behind Falmouth for the West lead as they defeated Wareham 5-1. Ryan Eden had three hits and scored a run for the Mets. Hyannis will play at Falmouth for the West lead, while Wareham plays at YD.
