Cape League results for June 29


REGIONAL —

Brewster 5, Wareham 5
The Whitecaps tied the game in the bottom of the ninth after giving up four runs and the lead in the eighth inning. Connor Powers had a pair of hits, including a two-run double in the second inning to give Brewster an early lead. Brent Milleville also had a pair of hits on the day. Steve Liddle had the big hit for the Gatemen. a three-run triple in the key eighth inning. Brewster has the day off while Wareham plays at Falmouth.

Bourne 4, Falmouth 2
The Braves scored two runs in the top of the fifteenth inning to upset the home squad 4-2 in the nearly four-hour game. Dusty Coleman won the game for the Braves with a two-run homerun in extra innings. Bob Revsez closed the door in the top of the inning to secure the win for Bourne. Falmouth with play Wareham tonight, while Bourne has the day off.

Harwich 10, Chatham 4
The middle of the Mariners lineup, and their 8 RBI, proved to be the difference as Harwich ended their two-game losing streak to pull within three points of East leading Brewster. Ryan Quigley picked up his second win of the season, allowing three runs on only two hits while striking out four in five innings. Joe Sanders and Jeff Cusick both had a pair of hits including homeruns for both Mariners. Both teams have the day off.

Hyannis 4, Cotuit 3
The Mets scored a one-run win over the West leading Kettleers as relif pitcher Ashur Tolliver picked up his second win of the season with three innings of work. Russell Brewer saved his league leading sixth game of the year with a hitless ninth. Evan Crawford had a pair of hits and an RBI for Cotuit. Both teams have the day off.

Y-D 5, Orleans 0
The Cardinals offensive woes continue as the Red Sox shutout Orleans on Sunday night, 5-0. Y-D starter Craig Fritsch picked up the win after seven innings of one-hit ball in which he fanned five and walked two. The leagues top hitter, Nick Liles, added to his average, connecting on three hits to raise it to .458. Orleans will host Cotuit while Y-D has the day off.
