Cape League results for July 4

REGIONAL -

Wareham 4, Bourne 3
The Braves left the tying run on base as the Gatemen escaped with a 4-3 win on Friday. Max Perlman pitched seven strong allowing only two earned runs on five his. Jordan Henry had three hits in the loss. Wareham will host Cotuit and Bourne will play Hyannis.

Cotuit 3, Falmouth 1
All the scoring took place in the first two innings as the Kettleers defeated Falmouth 3-1 on Friday. League-leading hitter A.J. Pollack had a pair of hist and is currently batting .453. Cotuit plays Wareham while Falmouth hosts Harwich.

Brewster 4, Harwich 2
As the battle for the East crown heats up, the Whitecaps scored another big win over Harwich to again take over sole position of first place. Tim Clubb again proved why he's one of the top pitchers on the cape, going six inning and allowing only two unearned runs while striking out seven. Brewster got three hits and three RBI from Mike Freeman while Brent Milleville collected a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs. Harwich plays at Falmouth while Brewster hots Y-D.

Orleans 5, Chatham 2
The Cardinals bats were out in full force as they pounded out 15 hits to top local rival Chatham 5-2. Tim Wheeler, Nate Freiman and Rich Poythress all had three hits in the win. Eric Ericson allowed two earned runs while striking out six in six innings pitched. The two will play again tonight in Chatham.

Hyannis 5, Y-D 2
The Mets scored in three of the first four innings to defeat Y-D 5-2 Friday. Right fielder Trent Ashcroft had three hits and an RBI while Graham Stoneburner picked up the win. He didn't allow an earned run in his six innings. Hyannis hosts Bourne while Y-D plays at Brewster.
