Cape League results for August 6

Harwich 5, Orleans 3

The Mariners clinched the final spot in the East with the victory, knocking out Brewster in the process. The Cardinals and the Mariners will meet for a shot at the Cape League title starting Saturday night in Orleans.

The Mariners will finish their schedule tonight in Brewster while Orleans hosts Chatham.

Bourne 5, YD 1

The Braves moved into a tie with Falmouth for second place in the log jam that is the West. Cotuit and Hyannis have a game in hand.

Brewster 9, Chatham 1

The Whitecaps did their part to stay in the race, but were eventually knocked out by virtue of Harwich’s win. Brewster will close out their season against the Mariners, while Chatham travels to Orleans.

Wareham 5, Falmouth 3

The Gatemen played spoiler as they kept Falmouth out of the top spot in the West. Falmouth will play at Hyannis and Wareham will close out their season against Bourne.
