BOURNE ... won its second Western Division title (1989) when it lost to Hyannis in two games, including a 14-inning game … Braves are 0-2 vs. Hyannis in postseason play and have never faced Brewster or Orleans in postseason action … posted a team-record 2.10 ERA ... was led by Eric Beattie (Tampa) with a league-leading 0.39 ERA, a team record and second best in league history ... gave up seven home runs, third fewest in league history and also walked a 113 batters, fewest in team history.

HYANNIS ... in the playoffs for the first time since 2000 when the Mets lost to Brewster in the finals … is 2-0 vs. Bourne, 0-2 vs. Brewster and 2-0 vs. Orleans in the playoffs … swept Orleans in the 1978 semifinals on the way to the Mets first title … paced the circuit in stolen bases with 73 for first time … Jonathan Tucker (16) was the second Met to lead the league in steals (Corey Zawadoski, 1981, 17) … hit a team low four home runs.

BREWSTER ... returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2000 when the Whitecaps won the CCBL championship in a 2-0 sweep of Hyannis … is 2-1 vs. Orleans (1994), 2-0 vs. Hyannis and has never faced Bourne in postseason play … brings a three game playoff winning streak into this years action … the 25.1 consecutive shutout innings pitched in the 2000 vs. Chatham and Hyannis is the second longest streak in the playoffs … J. C. Holt’s batting title is the third by a Whitecap in the last six years (Bobby Kielty in 1998 at .384 and Steve Stanley in 2000 at .329) and his .388 average is a team record …the 104 walks allowed by the pitching staff is second fewest in league history.

ORLEANS … is making its second straight postseason appearance … the Cardinals lost in the finals to Wareham in 2002 … is 1-2 vs. Brewster and 0-2 vs. Hyannis and has never faced Bourne in the playoffs … the Cardinals 54 wins is the most in consecutive seasons (52, 1971-72) … Cesar Nicholas is the fourth Cardinal to lead the league in RBI (28) and the first since Lance Niekro in 1999 (44) … Rhett James was first in wins (7) and is the second Orleans pitcher (Steve Kelly, 2000, 7) in the last four years to pace the league … was second with 72 steals after leading the way last year with 88.

This is the first time since 1989 that at least one of these three, Cotuit, Chatham and Wareham are not in the playoffs. Between them they have played in 327 postseason games and are first, second and third in games and wins.
