THIS WEEK IN THE CAPE LEAGUE
COCA COLA PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Tyler Lyons, Chatham LHP The first half of this week’s Coca Cola Co-Pitchers of the Week has been awarded to Chatham starter
Tyler Lyons (Oklahoma State).
The 6-2 southpaw earned the accolade this week by shutting out Wareham on August 19th, securing a 1-0 victory for his Anglers. Lyons surrendered only two hits in a complete game performance, fanning 11 Gatemen without walking a batter. Lyons now has two wins and two losses on the season, sporting a healthy 2.20 ERA. COCA COLA PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jake Buchanan, Cotuit RHP The second Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week is
Jake Buchanan (NC State) of Cotuit.
The league leader in ERA at 0.50, Buchanan turned in another dominant performance this week. In a shutout of Hyannis, the righty scattered three hits, walked one, and struck out 11. The win improved his record to 2-1 on the season.
